Facilities
The facilities at NWSS can accommodate most parties' requirements. We have catering facilities within the pavilion ( open Saturday to the public ) and each layout has covered spectator huts for protection against the elements.

Clay Shooting
The shooting ground at NWSS offers a vast range of disciplines in clay target shooting. Whatever your choice of clays we probably offer it. Most of our layouts and disciplines are served by automatic traps fed by coin tokens purchased from the shop and many traps are voice activated.

Our shooting ground is a clean ground and we insist that all shooters put their spent cartridge cases in the bins provided throughout the ground.

We insist all shooters and spectators wear eye and hearing protection when on or near a layout. We cannot be held responsible for injuries caused because of a lack of safety equipment. Our shop is well stocked with relevant protective equipment.
Prices: Rounds (25 clays on a single layout) start at £6.00
We do not charge corkage.

Maximum cartridge load 1ounce/28 grams, preferably fibre wad

No larger pellet size than number 7

Hearing and eye protection MUST be used on the ground

Field Target Shooting (Air Rifle)
Our fully covered shooting point, field target range has proved extremely popular and offers the air-rifle shooters probably the best available facility to shoot, zero-in and practice this relatively new and upcoming sport  for the novice and experienced shot alike.

The ten shooting bay facility is charged at £5 per bay per two hour slot from 9am-5pm Tuesday to Saturday. We run a booking system, so to ensure you can shoot without waiting please ring us to book a lane. Saturdays are always very busy and we recommend booking at least two days in advance. However, there is sometimes room throughout the week for 'turn up and shoot'

The range offers spinning and drop down targets at a variety of angles and ranges from 5-75 yards, and at various heights. Each end bay has wheeled target frames which are designed for zeroing in your sights and can be set at any range; they require paper targets available from the gunshop, or you may bring your own.

The gunshop also has a facility to fill your pneumatic gun at minimal cost, and supplies a range of pellets available for use on the range or take away. We also stock a wide range of air-rifles and accessories.
